RAGE
What is a rage session?
Rage sessions are a format of somatic work to safely move your anger through your body and voice. Somatic or embodied means letting your body lead what you do rather than your brain. The focus of rage sessions is to do this in community, where the energy of the group supports each other in expressing anger. It has overlap with breathwork, yoga, tai chi, and other meditative practices you might be familiar with.
Express your anger safely
Share your anger in a supportive, non-judgmental space with your body and voice

Rage in community
You don’t have to feel alone with your anger. Come together and have your anger witnessed.
Grateful Ragers

Holden took a lot of care to make sure people’s boundaries were respected in the rage space, and I felt very safe. That safety is a requisite for feeling comfortable enough to really let the rage out, and I felt that I was able to do that. After leaving my first rage session, I immediately recommended it to my friends, and I recommend it to you too!
At a time when so many of us are holding unprocessed grief, it’s important to take some space to tend to that grief, however it shows up. We make a lot of space for sadness but not enough for rage. I’m grateful to Holden for creating a space where I could SCREAM!

Holden! Thank you for holding this collective space where we can voice and share our rage. It’s a powerful environment to explore the intersections between politics and emotion, to situate our intimate lives and emotions within the frameworks of classism, racism, colonialism, heterocissexism, and other forms of oppression. I also fund it very beautiful to reclaim power from medical authorities, and to get to know this creative response, with strategies and community-driven tools. It was incredibly restorative to feel that I could explore the uniqueness of my own process while holding space for the angry voices around me.

I didn’t even realize how much I needed Holden’s rage session. I spend so much of my life trying to make myself smaller to conform to others’ expectations. A space designed to allow me to safely express the anger I feel about that – and to get in touch with an unconstrained, embodied version of myself – showed me a new way of moving through the world as a queer person.
